“I’m one of a kind in a full house.”
Kayne West: Never Let You Down
Which is more important, maintaining a fading image of what life has been up to this point or taking the chance and believing in your ability to take control of the future? If reality changes with every passing second, does it not make sense to look at how you can move in tandem with the laws of nature rather than swim against the current? Change is inevitable, no matter who you are and we must learn how to capitalize on life’s circumstances. The more prepared we are to take advantage of the changes life throws at us, the greater the impact is on our freedom and happiness.
Poker legends say that luck is preparation meeting opportunity. In other words, you have to be ready to take advantage of circumstances being presented to you. If you can incorporate this into your thought process, life becomes a universe of infinite opportunities and not a jail cell. Why be stagnant and unmoving when you can shift from paradigm to paradigm and investigate the multitude of possibilities that form around you?
Living a life filled with freedom is a choice that requires action and since this experience belongs exclusively to you, isn’t it time that you took control of your being and began playing a role in creating your future? Taking responsibility for your happiness is an essential key to this wondrous existence. The possibilities are endless if we dare to dream them into reality.
We are the ones that set the limits of our existence. If you let go of mindsets like fear and regret, nothing can stop your ability to manifest experiences beyond your wildest dreams. The universe is an enormous place full of possibilities and when we move in a positive direction (with the laws of nature), things tend to fall into place like the tumblers in a lock. The key is to trust that you are in control of your experience and that although things might not always work out the way you want them to, they have a habit of working out the way the universe wants them to.
Simple logic says play the odds. It makes more sense to believe in yourself and stop doubting your capabilities, rather than continuing to let your so-called limitations control your experience. Why not place a bet on your happiness and re-program your brain so that you can find success? Are you addicted to living through the same negative situations over and over again, or do you want to learn, move on, and experience new things? Pain is merely sitting on the fence and knowing what to do, but not doing it. Now is your time to take action. Step up or step off, because life waits for no one.

I can remember when Lollapalooza was a traveling tour and Jane’s Addiction was its main act. Jesus, I’m getting old. Anyway, Lollapalooza is now a three-day festival that takes place at Grant Park in Chicago. Running from August 1-3, 2008, this U.S. version of a music festival gives people from the mid-west plenty to be excited about.
Friday August 1, fans can see big-name acts such as The Ranconteurs and emo-superstars Radiohead. Saturday the 2nd features Lupe Fiasco, WILCO, MGMT, and Lollapalooza veterans Rage Against the Machine. Sunday the 3rd features Love and Rockets, Floggin Molly, Nine Inch Nails, Gnarls Barkely, and Kayne West.
One has to wonder if Kayne will have issues with the Chicago crowd. They might not be as peaceful as a bunch of hippies in the middle of Tennessee.
True story about Rage at Lollapalooza: I saw them in Philadelphia a ways back and they didn’t perform. They just stood their naked with stickers covering their mouths to protest against PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center) and the group’s ideas on music censorship. The guys in Rage remained silent for 15 minutes, letting feedback come from their guitars and then they left. I was so pissed. This was one of the few times that I wanted them to forget about their political activism and just play.

Rap music is full of drama but the current king of controversy is 50 Cent. 50 is currently battling with former G-Unit member Young Buck after 50 released a recorded a phone conversation between the two where Buck gets emotional and and starts crying as he explains to 50 why he should still be down with the G-Unit clique.
According to 50, he never would have released the tape if Buck hadn’t supposedly told the G-Unit to go “F#*!k itself while doing a show in Tampa. “I would never have put (the call) out if he wasn’t out in the middle of a show saying f me,” said 50 in a recent radio interview with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez.
Young Buck immediately responded to 50’s actions with a retaliation dis song called “Taped Conversation” in which he slams the G-Unit and 50. To add fuel to the fire, soon after this controversy started, former G-Unit member The Game also chimed in, showing support for Young Buck by releasing his own G-Unit dis track called “Taped Convo.”
“You don’t care about your son, if you did he would get yanked up…taping n*ggas phone calls what kind of shit is that…I told Buck in ’05 I could never stay loyal to a homo snitch n*gga that’s weaker than tin foil,” said The Game in his new song. One can only imagine that things are going to get even worse between these three before it gets better.
Can’t we all just get along?

“Borat: Cultural Learnings of America Make Benefit of Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” has to be considered one of the funniest films of the past decade and its creator is about to unleash another of his favorite characters upon the world.
“Bruno” is set for release on May 15, 2009 and features Cohen as an outspoken Austrian fashion and celebrity journalist that interviews random people. Of course, as with “Borat,” these people have no clue that the interviews are for the movie or that it is Cohen.
According to Variety, Universal has a lot of faith in Cohen’s star power and they are confident enough in the film’s success that they are willing to release it on the same day as Sony’s “The Da Vinci Code” sequel “Angels & Demons.”
This seems like a pretty safe gamble for Universal. “Borat” grossed $128.5 million and made Cohen one of the industry’s most in-demand actors. Having taken roles in films such as “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” Cohen has continues to demonstrate a proficiency for switching things up, so movie fans can probably expect this film to be a little different from “Borat.”
