It pays to trust your gut instinct. A French air hostess recently won a trip into outer space by winning a candy promotion. Originally, the woman threw away the lucky Kit Kat wrapper, but eventually went back and scooped it out of the trash bin. She later tried the code on the wrapper and found out she won.
Thanks to the folks at Nestle, Mathilde Epron will get to fly on in a four-seater, fighter-style plane made by Rocketplane. In addition to getting to go into outer space, Epron gets to come to Oklahoma City in the U.S. for training. Although it won’t be a long flight as they are really only in space for five minutes, Epron will get to experience the feeling of weightlessness.
Make sure to trust your gut instinct, who knows when it will pay out.

In what is easily the coolest story of the day, Jimi Hendrix’s 1965 Fender Stratocaster is going to be sold soon at an auction in London. This is the same guitar that he set ablaze at his legendary 1967 performance at London’s Finsbury Astoria.
Originally thought to have been lost, apparently the guitar had been swooped up by Hendrix’s press officer Tony Garland. Hidden in his nephew’s garage, the guitar finally saw daylight when Garland’s nephew found it last year.
The guitar’s estimated value is somewhere around $999,000. Part of a big sale at the Fame Bureau on September 4th, Hendrix’s guitar will be sold alongside of other rock and roll memorabilia such as Jim Morrison’s last notebook of poems.
This isn’t the first Hendrix Stratocaster to hit the marketplace, as his Woodstock guitar generated a $1.8 million bid.

The Dark Knight has received plenty of attention thanks to the truly unfortunate passing of Heath Ledger and now backed by numerous positive reviews, the movie is poised to break this year’s box office record. Possibly the most anticipated film of the year, monstrous crowds are expected to hit the theatres this weekend.
Opening Friday, Dark Knight reunites actor Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan. Ledger stars as the young version of the Joker. Early reports indicate that Ledger may be on the fast-track to winning an Oscar for his performance.
The movie is being shown on a record 9,200 movie screens in the U.S. and Canada, pushing Dark Knight past the previous record holder, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End by a small margin. Early estimates suggest that the movie will crush the $100 million mark this weekend. It needs to gross another $151.2 million to top the original Batman as the biggest blockbuster of the series.
The biggest opening goes to Spiderman 3 with $151.1 million.
