Take a listen to my latest mix and take a trip through my world. If you’re feeling my vibe, pass it on to your crew and spread the word about my site.

Foo Fighters to Release DVD Featuring Led Zeppelin Jam

Posted by djocean on July 28, 2008

The Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands. Not just because they rock, but because they constantly re-invent themselves. The groups live shows are full of energy and are not to be missed, so it is with great happiness that I tell you that the group is releasing a DVD featuring their concert at the famous Wembley Stadium.

Coming out August 23, 2008, the new DVD features 18 songs, including the Foo’s onstage collaboration with members of the 1960s rock band Led Zeppelin. Joining the Foos onstage were John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page.

DVD songs include:

The Pretender

Times Like These

Cheer Up, Boys

Learn to Fly

Long Road to Ruin

Breakout

Stacked Actors

Skin and Bones

Marigold

 My Hero

Cold Day in the Sun

Everlong

Monkey Wrench

All My Life

Rock and Roll

Ramble On

Best of You

Is The Dark Knight Faster than the Flash?

Posted by djocean on July 28, 2008

The new Batman movie continues to crush the North American box office, becoming the fastest movie to break the $300 million mark. In just two weeks of box office numbers, The Dark Knight has collected $314.2 million and shows no signs of slowing.

In addition to blasting its opening week competition, The Dark Knight now boasts the title of having the most successful “second week” of ticket sales in history, topping former number one, Shrek 2. The Dark Knight took in $75.6 million in three days, beating out the Mike Meyers animated ogre flick by 3.6 million.

The $180 million Dark Knight needs only $15 million more to top this year’s biggest box office success, Iron Man. If people continue to flock to the theatres, Heath Ledger’s last film will crush Shrek 2’s last box office honor and the The Dark Knight will become the fastest film to break the$ 400 million mark.

The only question remaining is whether The Dark Knight will have enough firepower to shoot it past The Titanic which currently holds the record for the biggest box office hit with $601 million?

The Rolling Stones Speak the Universal Language

Posted by djocean on July 28, 2008

1960s super-group The Rolling Stones are back in the headlines again, this time for signing a new label deal with Vivendi’s Universal Music. This long-term deal will see the Stones releasing new material on Universal’s label Polydor.

Although the Stones were courted by recent challenger Live Nation, the aging rockers decided to go with the world’s biggest music company. The same label that released the soundtrack to Martin Scorsese’s “Shine a Light,” which featured live concert footage from a Stones show at the Beacon Theatre, Universal now holds the worldwide rights to release Stones material.

I can’t believe these guys are still rocking after all this time. It just goes to show that there is life after the party.
