Frusciante Says Chili Peppers on Hold

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante says the band currently has no plans to work on a new album. In an article on Music Radar, the lightening-fast Frusciante talked about his new solo album and the future of the Peppers. Apparently the boys in the Peppers have no plans for a new release in 2009 and he is happy to have finished his latest solo CD.
Tenatively titled The Empyrean, Frusiante worked with bass buddy and Chili Pepper Flea and one of Frusciante’s biggest influences, Johnny Marr on the new album due out January 26.
I’m a little frustrated that the Peppers have nothing new coming out, but this album should prove to be quite interesting. Frusciante is a guitar purist and I am curious to see where he goes with the new release.
